Dennis Jones
Pastor
Dennis Jones has been pastor of Dublin Baptist since August, 2007. Prior to becoming pastor, Dennis served with the International Mission Board (IMB) as a missionary. In that role he served in Venezuela as a church planter. Later he served in Richmond, Virginia in the Global Research Department as a Church Growth Analyst and as the Regional Research Coordinator for Middle America and the Caribbean Basin.
Dennis has also served as pastor in Kentucky, Oklahoma, Michigan, and California.
Dennis is married to Cheryl, who is a Spanish teacher at Pulaski County High School. They have two adult children, Corrie and Walter.

llen Akers
Music Director
Allen has returned to service as Music Director having served previousily for several years. His love for music began early as he sang solos and in choirs as a school student.
Sixteen years ago Allen formed what is now a quartet called Praise Hymn. The group is composed of Trish Cook, Doug Ratcliff, Sherry Vaughn,Karen Akers and Allen. Karen runs the sound board for the group. The group sings and ministers to various groups and has done so for the past sixteen years. They have recorded a Cd and are in the process of recording another Cd.
Allen has also been involved with Church Choirs since he became a Christian. Prior to coming to Dublin Baptist Church, Allen sang in the choir at First Baptist Church, Radford. Allen has always had a love for music and for serving the Lord. He is excited about being a part of Dublin Baptist Church's music program and looks forward to ministering through music to all. Allen is a retired U.S. Postal Service employee and he and his wife Karen have been active members of Dublin Baptist Church for years serving in various capacities.
Allen and Karen together have four adult children, Bobbi, Megan, Mary Kate and Sarah Beth. They also have two grandchildren, Blair and Bradley.
Sherry Vaughn
Youth Ministry Director
Sherry is a retired counselor and classroom teacher of 30 years with Pulaski and Montgomery County Schools. She received her BS from Radford University in Special Education and Middle School Education. Her Masters in Counselor Education is from Virginia Tech. She has had experience in personal counseling, substance abuse counseling and life coaching as well as couples and family counseling.
Sherry has been a children’s entertainer, conference organizer, workshop presenter and storyteller. She has authored several Appalachian children’s books and does regional free-lance articles.
While attending Radford University, Sherry was the DBC summer youth director so she feels she has come full-circle. Sherry and her husband, Jerry, feel blessed, once again, to be ministering to the DBC youth. Together, they manage rental properties at Claytor Lake and have 2 grown children, Kristin and Jeremy.
Cheryl Bowling
Children's Ministry Director
Cheryl Bowling graduated from Pulaski County High School in 1997 and then attended Radford University where she received a BS degree in 2000 with a major in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a Masters degree in Special Education in 2002. Cheryl also has completed a certificate program from Radford University in Autism Spectrum Disorders. Cheryl is currently employed by Pulaski County Schools at Dublin Elementary where she is a special education service provider and advocate for children with disabilities. Cheryl has been an active member of Dublin Baptist Church as a child, youth and as an adult. Cheryl has a passion for children’s ministry and leading children to show their faith in their daily life. Cheryl currently resides in the Dublin community.

Waynette Harris
Administrative Assistant
Waynette has been our administrative assistant since March, 2008. She has been married to her husband, Marlon for 26 years. Together they have 6 children with the youngest two still living at home. Among various jobs, Waynette has been the District Sales Manager for Avon, worked in the Bursar’s Office at VA Tech and run a home childcare business for ten years. The family attends Belmont Christian Church in Christiansburg.
